Danae Papamattheou-Matschke, violin

Danae Papamattheou-Matschke belongs to a new generation of much promising Greek violinists.

At the age of 11, she makes her debut in music festivals in Greece and soon afterwards she performs in recitals in German cities, with enthusiastic press reviews.

Since then, she has performed in Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, China and Cyprus. As a soloist, she has played with numerous symphonic orchestras such as the National Orchestra of Athens and of Thessaloniki, the Thuringen Philarmonic, the Westsachsisches Symphonic Orchestra, the Vogtland Philarmonic, the Erzgebirgische Philarmonic, the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra of Leipzig, the Kamerata Orchestra of the Friends of Music and others.

In 2008, the Society of the Greek Critics for Theatre and Music awards her a distinction for the appearance with the National Orchestra of Athens and the Orchestra of the Friends of Music "Kamerata". read more
