The Athens Camerata and conductor Nikos Tsouchlos are undoubtfully have played a key role in the recent artistic history of our country. In collaboration with the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, and in an effort to promote young, important artists from Greece and abroad Camerata has chose to present the talented violinst Danae Papamatthaeou-Matschke. Ms. Papamatthaeou-Matschke has already won numerous scholarships, international prizes and excellent comments for her music as well as her personality. Besides the famous Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, K. 219 by W. A. Mozart the program includes Chamber Symphony (arr. for a string orchestra of Quarter No. 8) by D. Shostakovich. It also icludes an important work by N. Athinaios, the Suite for Strings. This is a laconic, yet lyric work, that was recently presented in the Athens Megaron and was a great success.
